Books I’ve Edited: A Hometown Called Love by Markus Ahonen

My Hometown Named Love by Markus Ahonen is a book of twenty short stories about love from a guy’s viewpoint. You can really learn something about the way a man thinks from reading these stories, which often focus on how hard it is for a man who is a little unsure of himself to reach out to a woman who might shoot him down. Some of the most moving stories are about people who love each other, but something is holding them apart, whether the illness of a parent or infertility or grief. The best surprise comes at the end, when the last story pulls together the threads of many of the stories and shows you how they interconnect and what direction their lives took after the short story ended.
